Buble’s “Call Me Irresponsible” Album – “Everything”
Okay, so I admit to behaving like an obsessive 12 year old girl whenever the name “Michael Buble” is mentioned in my presence. Or when I hear his voice. Or when I think about him. Okay, pretty much all the time. Yes, I’m a 30 year old woman whose heart skips a few beats and palms begin to sweat at the mere second a Buble tune begins.
You should’ve seen me at his concert last year. He ran right past me down the aisle and I grabbed his arm, feeling that smooth satiny material on his suit. He rushed past, to get to the audience in the back of the room – yet another move that has given me something more to appreciate about him – and I watched in complete awe, vowing to make it to every possible show of his I can in the future.
Except the one coming up at the end of July. See, money’s a bit tight for me right now (I temporarily had to add a second vehicle to my insurance policy and just returned from a 3-day business conference in Manhattan) and despite all the heavy hint-dropping I’ve done, no one yet has called me to say, “Surprise! Guess where you’re going!” Alas, that fantasy will likely haunt me until the day of the show.
But more about the man later – the point of this post is to (albeit belatedly) talk about Michael’s latest album “Call Me Irresponsible”. Now, if you ask me, I don’t believe he’ll ever be capable of releasing a less-than-stellar album, but part of what makes this one so special is that while it features some classics like “Me and Mrs. Jones” and “The Best Is Yet To Come”, it also gives us not one, but two Michael Buble originals, “Lost” and his first single off the album, “Everything”.
I’m not even dating anyone right now and I want “Everything” to be my “our song” at my wedding. Check out these lyrics:
You’re a falling star
You’re the getaway car
You’re the line in the sand when I go too far
You’re the swimming pool on an August day
You’re the perfect thing to sayAnd you play it coy
But it’s kind of cute
When you smile at me, you know exactly what you do
Baby don’t pretend that you don’t know it’s true
‘Cause you can see it when I look at you(chorus)
And in this crazy life
And through these crazy times
It’s you, it’s you
Ya make me sing
Your every line
Your every word
You’re everythingYou’re a carousel
You’re a wishing well
And you light me up when you ring my bell
You’re a mystery
You’re from outerspace
You’re every minute of my every dayAnd I can’t believe that I’m your man
And I get to kiss ya baby just because I can
Whatever comes our way
We’ll see it through
‘Cause you know that’s what our love can do(repeat chorus)
La la la la…
And in this crazy life
And through these crazy times
It’s you, it’s you
Ya make me sing
Your every line, your every wordYou’re everything
You’re every song
And I sing along
‘Cause you’re my everythingLa la la la la la la…
If you haven’t heard it, you can currently hear it on the official Michael Buble site. However I’m sure you’re just going to want the whole album, so just go buy it right now.
