Calling All Cool Cats and Dangerous Dames!
Welcome to the latest addition to the b5media network’s Music Channel – Crooner Culture!
This blog is for lovers of crooners as well as the culture surrounding crooners over the years. This is more than just “The Rat Pack” – it’s Bobby Darin to Michael Buble, Paul Anka to Harry Connick, Jr. and Vic Damone to Bing Crosby.
However let’s not forget the ladies of crooning either – Billie Holiday and Nina Simone to Ella Fitzgerald and Norah Jones. And groups? How about The Platters, Righteous Brothers, and Andrew Sisters for starters…
Any of these get your swoon going? If you’re anything like me, I’m willing to bet you’re already humming a tune.
Crooners have a style, a swagger or a sexy hip. The clothes, movies, décor, and even the dances over the years have been inspired by the music of these smooth voiced seducers.
My goal is to explore all of it, and share it here with you. I have a passion for this classic style, and am thrilled to be working with b5media to bring that passion forth.
Now forget the jive, you cool cats and dangerous dames, and let’s swing!

Hands down — best blog intro post I’ve ever seen. Don’t know much about this style but I tell ya, I’m ready to croon after reading this. I do love Nina Simone, in fact, I went and sneaked her in over at my blog, even though the whole hippie relevance is questionable. Ah, well. Looking forward to more.
Awhhh thank you Jennifer!! I’m really excited to be writing about this stuff – and to hear that it’s piqued the interest of a hippie music gal, well, I’m just flattered as all get out!
I do love all kinds of music myself – but this is just such a passion of mine, I had to do it! Thank you so much for stopping by!
