Of course, being a huge Michael Buble fan comes with plenty of perks when it comes to birthdays and Christmas. I got this album this past Christmas from my dad (who thinks it’s weird that his 30 year old daughter is obsessed with Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble – while he listens to Deep Purple). I’m still waiting on the Sinatra Box Set (Reprise), of course.

I’ve been thinking a lot about life, getting older, and how with age comes the ability to learn about how to best handle the lemons you get from life. See, it gets too easy sometimes to get so wrapped up in your own drama that you forget that things often DO get better. Do things you thought were life-ending at the age of 20 really matter to you when you’re 30? Of course not. Things change, and you change. And the sooner one learns that hey, “That’s how it goes…” the easier it is to get over it and get past it. It’s time to learn about living life no matter what when you’re at your lowest of lows. Because it really does have the ability to be better – especially when you’re thinking it can’t get much worse!

Having that feeling of being able to blow off the bad stuff is pretty empowering. I’m not suggesting that the world be chasing rainbows every day, but rather maybe we all need to learn to stop taking ourselves so seriously from time to time.
