Grr… TVATLAS.COM sucks.

Grr… TVATLAS.COM sucks.

Okay, I ordered my Dean Martin “Forever Cool” CD/DVD and coffee mug on the 12th of August.
I got an email on the 21st, NINE DAYS LATER, telling me that it was on backorder.
I pre-ordered!
So I replied to the email, asking why it took them nine days, 7 of which were after the official release (on the 14th), to tell me that my order was on hold.
Have I received a reply? Nope.
Should I cancel the order and go to the store to get it? Yep.
Will I? Probably not, because you can’t get the mug and other stuff anywhere but …read more

Jane Russell – Ain’t There Anyone Here For Love?

Jane Russell – Ain’t There Anyone Here For Love?

I know, the title of the film is “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” but dammit Jane Russell’s a knockout and makes all us brunette babies envious in this clip from the film. She wasn’t “sweet” looking like Marilyn, and her voice is deeper as well. I’m loving her outfit though, and the hair and makeup are quite beautiful as far as I’m concerned.
What do you think?

Hollywood Icon – Marilyn Monroe – on AMC tonight

Hollywood Icon – Marilyn Monroe – on AMC tonight

It’s a Marilyn Monroe Movie Marathon tonight on AMC!
8:00 PM Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953)
10:00 PM The Seven Year Itch (1955) (One of my all time favorites!)
12:15 AM Bus Stop (1956)
If for some reason you either can’t watch, or can’t get enough, you can buy a nice collection of Marilyn Monroe films, including those above, plus “How To Marry A Millionaire”, “There’s No Business Like Show Business”, and “The Final Days” as part of The Diamond Collection.
Oh, and in case anyone’s interested, AMC’s featuring Robert DeNiro tomorrow night! Looks like I’m gonna need a LOT of popcorn! …read more

Elvis Presley – He did it his way.

Elvis Presley – He did it his way.

I couldn’t let today go by without an Elvis post. It’s 30 years ago today that Priscilla found him collapsed, Lisa Marie was only 9 years old.
This is FAR from my favorite version of the song, and this was filmed just two months before he died, but there’s no denying that Elvis took ownership of this song, much like Sinatra did.

Yes, Elvis was a crooner as much as a rock ‘n roller. I think he had more women screaming and swooning than Ol’ Blue Eyes and the Beatles put together, to be honest. And why not? He was gorgeous, he …read more

Album Release: Dean Martin’s Forever Cool – Free Shipping!

Okay, so it’s finally here. I’ve heard different people with different opinions on this sort of thing, but I’m sorry, I’m so mad for Dino that I just had to pre-order this from DeanMartin.Com! Of course, the one I bought has a bonus DVD in it, with home videos and interviews with the others on the album, so I didn’t get the free shipping, but if you want just the CD, go get it now!
This new album features 14 classic Dean Martin songs newly recorded instrumentals and collaborations with Kevin Spacey, Joss Stone, Martina McBride, Robbie Williams and many more.

Swing Dancing from the Movie Swing Fever (1944)

Swing Dancing from the Movie Swing Fever (1944)

Since I’m having so much fun trolling around YouTube today, I thought I’d throw this post up as well!
Wednesday night, my friend Todd and I are going to take some dance lessons with my friend Tina and her husband Matt. Todd’s already taken a good two months’ worth of swing lessons, and has tried to show me what he’s learned but it’s difficult when you’re not in a studio with the right music playing and so on.
I know the utter basic moves for swing dancing… step to the right with a little bounce, bounce back on your left and bring …read more
