I really wish I could handle the flavor of Sambuca, but despite my Italian roots, I just can’t handle Anisette. I know, it’s strange, and likely what confirms to anyone suspicious that I’m not 100% Italian. But this drink seems pretty tasty, given the flavors involved: dry gin, anisette, lemon, sugar… Maybe the lemon would cut out the black licorice taste enough that I could tolerate this one, but it’s gonna be tough to try!
Either way, if you’re a fan of black licorice (anisette) and cool looking martinis, hit this one up!

Okay, please don’t take this as any fodder for a political debate on today’s situation, but I had to post this. Not just because it’s Frank Sinatra, or because it’s got him singing in it, or that he’s talking about his views on America and war. It’s amazing how this could be used by either “party” today though. He talks about American pride, dabbles on the 1940’s “melting pot”, and uses some analogies that have been used for decades since about blood and war.

I’m still waiting for someone to buy me that video subscription (or even just a few individual DVDs) to the Dean Martin Variety Show archives (including the roasts, of course). I love this stuff, and yes, I know this is more 60’s and less “classic crooner” (especially with Miss Horne involved) but I think this is just cool as hell.

I love how the clip opens with her taking off her wrap. I can’t imagine how many women walked up to good ol’ Dino and had that initial reaction! LOL

This would be something Marilyn Monroe would’ve definitely served at a party… it matches her dress in Gentleman Prefer Blondes! It’s light (thanks to the club soda, but not so light you don’t know you’re drinking), bubbly, and slightly fruity thanks to the cherry juice, grenadine, and the pineapple piece. Studio says producer sold rights it didn’t own.
NBC’s complaint alleges that many of the episode excerpts belong to the studio—and not Greg Garrison Productions. The studio says it owns the copyrights to 235 episodes. “Material portions of at least 86 episodes of The Dean Martin Show owned by NBCU have been copied and included on the best-of-shows DVDs,” the complaint states.
NBC had apparently been considering packaging the Dean Martin properties when representatives learned of the Best of Dean Martin series. The complaint says NBC Universal believes Guthy-Renker has sold “many thousands of copies of the infringing DVDs and has grossed …read more
