A minor obsession with Howard Hughes

(Image: Amazon.com)

I don’t know why, but I’ve always been oddly interested in Howard Hughes and his life story. So when The Aviator came out in 2004, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, I was in heaven.

I love bio flicks like this in general, like Ray and Walk The Line, but I don’t know what it is about the story of Howard Hughes that thrills me. I mean, the man was kind of a jerk, he was a womanizer, and phobias, compulsions, and self-inflicted solitary confinement took him through to the end of his life. Seriously, who else finds that fascinating? LOL

Of course, I’d love to get deeper into this obsession of mine, but I fear that you, my dear readers, might be frightened of me and never return to the site. LOL

Anyone else find his life story as fascinating as I do? (Please say yes.)

    Hi Lara,
I think a lot of folks are interested in weirdos like Howard Hughes. Partly because of the “freak-show” nature but also because we sometime see subtle parts of our own personalities in the extreme parts of others personalities. And if I may go out on a limb – we can see the world a little bit differently albeit vicariously through someone else’s eyes. Also, wouldn’t it just be nice not having to decide what to wear everyday?!
