The Wedding Date (2005)

“I’m allergic to fabric softener. I majored in comparative literature at Brown. I hate anchovies. And I think I’d miss you even if we never met.” – Nick Mercer (played by Dermot Mulroney)

Oh. My. God.
I think that’s one of the most romantic things I’ve heard in the longest time. In fact, this movie has a lot of great lines in it.

“Every woman has the exact love life she wants.”

“I’d rather fight with you than make love with anyone else.”

“The hardest thing is loving someone and then having the courage to let them love you back.”

“Here’s to the husbands who’ve won you, the losers who’ve lost you, and the lucky bastards who’ve yet to meet you.”

“Can you believe Kat gets to shag this guy? No, really, you should send God a bottle of wine or a quiche or something.”

Okay, so I know that The Wedding Date doesn’t have any crooner-actors in it. But I’m watching it on TNT right now, and I noticed that there are quite a few songs in here by the man of my dreams, Michael Bublé. There are three, as a matter of fact, “Sway”, “Home”, and “Save The Last Dance” (closing credits track).

So if you’re into romantic comedies, Michael Bublé, and/or Dermot Mulroney (because well, he’s hot) or Debra Messing, and you haven’t seen this movie, you need to crawl out from under your proverbial rock, mmkay?
