Ice Cold Coca-Cola Tin SignBuy at AllPosters.com
I’ve always wanted to collect tin wall signs for some reason. My mom’s got a couple she pulls out around Christmas, with Santa and Coca-Cola on them, but every time I see these kinds of wall art up, I always wonder if they’re real (authentic) or reproductions. We even have a restaurant where I live that essentially has “papered” the walls with retro-vintage stuff like this. I don’t know why, I just love the way the art looks and feels.
I’ve GOT to get my own space where I can start collecting these on …read more

Vintage Art – Freedom’s On Me.

Aside from the barbecues and the parades, Memorial Day is a day of remembering those who gave their lives for the freedom of the rest of us. One artist is paying tribute in a most amazing way.

Vintage Art – Visit South Africa

Vintage Art – Visit South Africa

In the days when airline travel was “new”, many tourism groups used commissioned art to entice people to visit “far off lands” like South Africa. Think Howard Hughes and TWA.
The lure of foreign lands beacons in Gayle Ullman’s vintage travel poster “Mystic South Africa.” The giraffe’s exotic silhouettes and deep reflections are burnished in warm sepia shades. The nostalgia and tranquility of this luminous poster will transport travelers, animal lovers and art collectors alike. – AllPosters

Vintage Art – Golden Sable I and II

Vintage Art – Golden Sable I and II

There’s something about that long, lean, stretched-hourglass figure that’s often featured in vintage ads for champagne. Tattinger used it (“it” being Grace Kelly) in one of their pieces, and here we have two by Poto Leifi for a company (that may be fictional, because I can’t find any info on it) called Golden Sable.
You might be a little surprised to learn that the artist for these two prints is alive and well, and YOUNG!
About Artist Poto Leifi:
Born and raised in Southern California, I’ve been drawing since I was 4 years old. I graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School and …read more

Vintage Art – Bogie and Bergman in Casablanca

Vintage Art – Bogie and Bergman in Casablanca

Continuing on with the “movie room” theme for vintage art, I found this classic movie poster of “Casablanca” featuring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Anyone… I mean ANYONE… who doesn’t find this movie a total classic and who doesn’t appreciate it for it’s entirety is a fool, in my opinion!
The colors and the artwork in this print are just beautiful, and would not only be great in a movie room, but also a bedroom with a vintage feel to it’s decor, or even a home office.

Vintage Art – Movie Room Classics

Anyone got a movie room in their home? You know what I’m talking about, with the huge screen, the big comfy chairs with the coolers in the armrests, surround sound?
I’ve only been in a couple of these, and no, they haven’t all been that extravagant, but people do love movies and they do love to “do up” their movie rooms. Even if you’re just a fan of classic movies, you might have a “man cave” or some such where you tend to decorate with classic movie posters. Here’s one featuring the all-time sex goddess, Marilyn Monroe:
