Thirsty Thursdays – A Hole in One

Thirsty Thursdays – A Hole in One

With today’s temperatures proposed to go into the 80’s (Yes, it’s OCTOBER and I’m in NEW YORK!) I think the boys should head out for a last round of golf, don’t you?
After 18 holes, everyone buys the best guy a drink (or is it the other way around?) and I think this recipe from TheBar would be just the perfect thing for a hot day like today. I can totally see Frank Sinatra and the boys, wearing their madras shirts or golf sweaters and caps with a golf club in one hand and one of these in the other!

Thirsty Thursdays – Bullet Martini

Thirsty Thursdays – Bullet Martini

I really wish I could handle the flavor of Sambuca, but despite my Italian roots, I just can’t handle Anisette. I know, it’s strange, and likely what confirms to anyone suspicious that I’m not 100% Italian. But this drink seems pretty tasty, given the flavors involved: dry gin, anisette, lemon, sugar… Maybe the lemon would cut out the black licorice taste enough that I could tolerate this one, but it’s gonna be tough to try!
Either way, if you’re a fan of black licorice (anisette) and cool looking martinis, hit this one up!

1 oz. Tanqueray London Dry Gin

Thirsty Thursdays – Royal Stretch

Thirsty Thursdays – Royal Stretch

Thanks to TheBar.com for the recipe and image for this yummy looking Royal Stretch!
This would be something Marilyn Monroe would’ve definitely served at a party… it matches her dress in Gentleman Prefer Blondes! It’s light (thanks to the club soda, but not so light you don’t know you’re drinking), bubbly, and slightly fruity thanks to the cherry juice, grenadine, and the pineapple piece. Light, bubbly and fruity? Yep, sounds like Marilyn to me!
I can totally picture myself in that dress, dripping with diamonds, men in tuxedos surrounding me… who says you have to be blonde to appreciate that …read more

Norah Jones Lyrics & Music – “Turn Me On”

Norah Jones Lyrics & Music – “Turn Me On”

Norah Jones, as I’ve said before, has one of the sexiest, sultriest voices of any neo-crooner around – especially a female. Her piano playing is as soulful as her voice, and the lyrics… oh, the lyrics!
Whenever I’m feeling really… er, amorous… this song just HAS to be played. It’s Norah Jones’ “Turn Me On”. Lyrics are below the player. Grab a chocolatini and embrace this one, folks…

Sexy Chocolatini Recipes

Just like hot chocolate gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling in the dead of winter, a good chocolatini can give you that hot, sexy feeling anytime. Here are some of my favorite chocolatini recipes!

Thirsty Thursdays – Mojitos and The Rumba

Thirsty Thursdays – Mojitos and The Rumba

It’s Thursday, gang – time for a classic drink, a little history, and some great dance music.
Let’s start with the mojito recipe:
This is what you need…
Fresh mint leaves
Bitters
Limes, quartered
Ice (preferably crushed, but small chunks will work)
White/light rum
Guarapo (sugar cane juice) (you can use simple syrup or 4 tsp. of sugar (Havana style uses granulated sugar) but the best is to use the guarapo)
Club Soda

Muddle 5-6 mint leaves, 3 drops bitters, and 3 lime quarters in the bottom of a tall glass. (If you’re using granulated sugar, add it here prior to muddling.)
Fill the glass to the top with ice.
Add 2 …read more

Hot New Miami Drink – Yellow Tomato Martini

Hot New Miami Drink – Yellow Tomato Martini

I can see it now – my thinner, sexier, dangerous dame self – on a terra cotta patio overlooking a giant inground pool. I’m tanned and dewy, wearing a white slinky dress with my long, dark hair cascading over my shoulders. In my hand? The hottest new drink in Miami – The Yellow Tomato Martini. What’s better than a sexy martini when you’re schmoozing at an outdoor after-dinner party, in the middle of summer, listening to your favorite crooners melt your heart? (Okay, so this drink would be just as sexy in jeans and a cami with my hair up …read more
