I wish there were more of you now than there was then… but the truth is that I think us crooner lovers are too rare a breed…
Welcome to the latest addition to the b5media network’s Music Channel – Crooner Culture!
This blog is for lovers of crooners as well as the culture surrounding crooners over the years. This is more than just “The Rat Pack” – it’s Bobby Darin to Michael Buble, Paul Anka to Harry Connick, Jr. and Vic Damone to Bing Crosby.
However let’s not forget the ladies of crooning either – Billie Holiday and Nina Simone to …read more

Crooner Week: Bing Crosby – Around The Web

Crooner Week: Bing Crosby – Around The Web

I figured I’d post a collection of links and information around the web about Bing Crosby today as part of the very first Crooner Culture Crooner Week featuring Bing Crosby.

New Feature: Crooner Weeks

New Feature: Crooner Weeks

Okay, so I find myself getting sucked into the worlds of these crooners and then it’s time to write about another one. But I’m not finished writing about the first one, so I’ve done some thinking and decided that maybe I should just focus on one crooner per week and then go down my list, and rotate from there.

Alicia Keys – Fallin’ – Lyrics & mp3

Alicia Keys – Fallin’ – Lyrics & mp3

I know, it appears that I’m on an Alicia Keys kick here lately – maybe I am.
I also know that she’s considered R&B and not a “crooner” type, according to official genre types, but I can’t help it – She’s a crooner to me. Maybe it’s the piano, her voice, I don’t know… whatever it is, I’m kinda into it.

Check these tunes out at Amazon.com – did you know you can buy mp3’s there now, too!?

Rev. Bob Glenn in Minnesota preaches the gospel by day, and croons his way through classics like “Meglio Stasera” with his jazz band at night.

Just In Time – Michael Buble’ and Tony Bennett dancing together

Just In Time – Michael Buble’ and Tony Bennett dancing together

Okay not only is this video great because it’s got two amazing crooners, but at the end you hear Al Roker saying “Wow, Michael Buble’ and Tony Bennett – Picking out drapes at Target!” BWAHAHAHA!
I have this album, it’s fantastic, to say the least. I do love Tony Bennett (though haven’t posted much about him until now – been focusing on my future husb… erm… on the talented Michael Buble’ a lot)

Vegas – I’m gonna keep this on topic if it kills me!

Vegas – I’m gonna keep this on topic if it kills me!

Okay – We all know that some of the world’s most legendary crooners have performed, much less set up shop, in Las Vegas.
