Okay everyone – it’s time for the first ever Crooner Culture blog project!
Here’s the skinny…
Everyone has old family photos from the 40’s and 50’s laying around somewhere. Maybe your cousin’s got them all, or your sister, or your 80 year old Uncle Joe. But they’re somewhere.

I was watching her on “The View”, and have seen her on TV quite a bit lately. She reminds me of a female version of John Legend with her lyrics, melody, piano playing, and beat. She’s kinda cool, don’t you think?
She’s had little to no formal voice training… she’s a natural!

Bobby Darin Crooner Week is over, gang. I’m leaving you with an mp3 and lyrics to one of my all time favorite Bobby Darin song and the lyrics. I even snagged a YouTube vid of him singing this one. Can you guess what it is before you click to get through the jump?
I’ll give you a hint, my future husband, Michael Bublé does a cover of this one. And I can honestly say that while it’s great, I love Bobby’s original version just a teeny bit more.

Okay, so I’m starting Bing Crosby week a day early today. (From now on, Crooner Weeks will start on Mondays.)

I know, it appears that I’m on an Alicia Keys kick here lately – maybe I am.
I also know that she’s considered R&B and not a “crooner” type, according to official genre types, but I can’t help it – She’s a crooner to me. Maybe it’s the piano, her voice, I don’t know… whatever it is, I’m kinda into it.

Josh Groban’s voice is simply beautiful, don’t you think? I found out the other night that he and Michael Bublé are very good friends, too! This song is beautiful, and I have to say, I know that it could be taken in any number of ways but I would probably bawl my eyes out if anyone ever sang/dedicated this one to me. Wouldn’t you?
