Top 10 Crooners to Invite to the Holiday Office Party

As part of b5media’s music channel list project, our theme this time around is “Top 10 artists/bands to invite to the holiday office party” and of course, I’m going to list crooners! This has to be one of those “alive or dead” things for this category, but here we go:
10. Marilyn Monroe – Yes, she’s a female crooner, and oh man, you can’t help but imagine she’d be a blast at a holiday party, maybe even drinking a Royal Stretch. I have a feeling she’d likely be the one making photocopies of her butt on the xerox machine, but what …read more

Thirsty Thursdays – Royal Stretch

Thanks to TheBar.com for the recipe and image for this yummy looking Royal Stretch!
This would be something Marilyn Monroe would’ve definitely served at a party… it matches her dress in Gentleman Prefer Blondes! It’s light (thanks to the club soda, but not so light you don’t know you’re drinking), bubbly, and slightly fruity thanks to the cherry juice, grenadine, and the pineapple piece. What do you think?

If for some reason you either can’t watch, or can’t get enough, you can buy a nice collection of Marilyn Monroe films, including those above, plus “How To Marry A Millionaire”, “There’s No Business Like Show Business”, and “The Final Days” as part of The Diamond Collection.

Did You Know? 5 Ella Fitzgerald Facts

Did You Know? 5 Ella Fitzgerald Facts

Ella married twice, though there is evidence that she may have married a third time. In 1941 she married Benny Kornegay, a convicted drug dealer and hustler. That marriage lasted only 2 years.
Her first ever performance was at one of the very first Amateur Nights at the Apollo Theater in 1934. She sang two songs and went home with the top prize of $25.
As a youth, Ella worked to contribute money to the family’s finances, often doing odd little jobs here and there. One she held for quite some time was as a runner for local gamblers, picking up their …read more
